Advice on Volunteer Support Networks

Helping others…

Elderly, Sick or Vulnerable Parishioners

If you know of any parishioners who are elderly, sick or vulnerable and don’t have family support, Warrington Council have set up a scheme to support them during the pandemic.  They can be referred Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm, either by email or by phone (01925) 246880.

Buddy System

It is good to keep in touch with elderly, sick or vulnerable parishioners by phone.  This is especially relevant for those who have been asked to stay at home for the next 12 weeks. If you could offer to be a Buddy to a fellow parishioner, please contact the church by phone , 630928 or email .This does not involve visiting or doing shopping, etc.  In the interests of safeguarding, the latter should be addressed by the volunteer scheme set up by the Council.

People wanting to help

If people want to engage in practical help and support, they can volunteer at:

Thank you to those parishioners who have offered to be a ‘Buddy’ to a fellow parishioner who may be lonely, sick or homebound.

If you are lonely and feeling isolated, please call the Parish Office, 630928

and we will put you in touch with a fellow parishioner you can talk to on the phone.

Advice on Volunteer Support Networks

Anyone wishing  to volunteer should be encouraged to do so through the publicly established schemes in our local authority area.

This will ensure all are working in line with government directions and within the appropriate safety frameworks.
